The two boxes on the left show the parents of this relation. Internally, the top one is labelled "Wife", solely because if rotate this screen 90┬░ to the right, it places the husband on the left, as in most 'family trees.'
However, this can be reversed, but be consistent. Once someone is a 'Husband,' he can not be someone else's 'Wife.' If this causes problems for you, please write.
When this field is empty, you are asked if you want to create a new link (or, to link back to a Person card on whom you clicked "To Children").
When it is filled, it will take you to that person's detail card (if any). If you hold down the shift key, the detail card will be skipped, and that person's parents' relation card will be shown (if any). If you hold down the option key, it will change an existing link.
